
Clint Smith
Clint Smith is the Chief Legal Officer of Discord. Since joining the company in 2020, he has been the company executive responsible for Law, Policy, and Online Safety. Clint currently serves as the chair of the board of directors of ROOST (Robust Open Online Safety Tools), a non-profit organization dedicated to building scalable, resilient, and open-source safety tools for the AI era. Clint is also a contributor to the Stanford Law School course on "AI Strategy for Legal Leaders." Clint began his career at the law firm Steptoe & Johnson LLP in Washington DC, and has since held leadership positions with various tech companies as well as national trade associations including the Business Software Alliance and the U.S. Internet Service Provider Association.
