Angela Johnson

Angela Johnson, MSE, PHD, RAC leads Services at Avania Clinical, a cutting edge global service organization exclusively focused on medical technology, where she oversees regulatory strategy, AI/SaMD consulting, cybersecurity, and market access across 450+ medtech and biotech clients. With 25+ years of FDA regulatory experience spanning Fortune 500 to venture-backed startups, she brings a rare perspective on what happens when agentic AI meets regulated industries, where autonomous decision-making collides with patient safety, regulatory accountability, and the legal frameworks that haven't caught up. Angela teaches FDA regulatory strategy at Northeastern University, has authored chapters in the RAPS regulatory affairs textbook, and is currently collaborating with top-50 and startup leaders on AI governance and delegation accountability. She holds a PhD from Texas Tech University and an MS in Materials Engineering from NC State.
